Begin to create a care package for your heart, from the biggest to the smallest things you can do that give you joy.
ASK THE LORD TO REMIND ME OF HIS LOVE FOR ME.
To keep my focus on my heart I have to keep this first in my mind: How much He loves me! Then I ask for His help as He and Icheck and clean the wound.
Do a Heart Check...
If you are around people you are going to get your feelings hurt. When you feel unloved, disrespected or misunderstood those are small wounds to the heart.
If we wait until others apologize or change their behaviors we run the risk of never feeling healed.
These steps allow us to be empowered to care about our hearts and get them to wholeness once again.
I WAS OKAY AND NOW I AM NOT OKAY
I am learning to recognize the moment my heart has been negatively impacted.
I MUST FOCUS ON ONE THING: MY HEART.
Later I can look at what "they did", right now I've got to take care of my heart.
ABOVE ALL ELSE, GUARD YOUR HEART, FOR OUT OF IT FLOWS YOUR LIFE. PROVERBS 4:23
ASSESS THE INJURY AND PRESCRIBE THE MEDICINE
1. What does my heart feel?
2. I care enough about myself to say, "That makes sense and it matters to me!"
3. What are some truths from God's Word that will put medicine on my wounded heart?
4. What do I want to feel?
5. Go to the toolbox...
What action can I take right now that will help me feel #4? This is an action that will not harm my body, mind, or spirit but will make me feel whole again.
